Communication tools
The purpose is to offer to centres:
- A unified mailing system that gives a coherent identity to the tradition
- Ready recognition to Ts/ATs/Trustees
- A safe ecosystem complying with data protection laws
- Tools to manage documents, meetings and contacts
- Collaboration between tech teams, trusts and Ts/ATs
Centres can decide to join the M365 suite project to access the following mailing tools:
- Individual mailboxes (i.e. [email protected])
- Trust/Committee mailing lists (i.e. [email protected])
- Shared addresses (i.e. [email protected])
As well as other communication tools:
- File sharing
- Online messaging
- Conference calls
- Calendar
- Microsoft Office online suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Please note the following points:
- The centre’s email system can be independent of other systems like the centre’s website or registration system (see diagram below)
- IVTA offers M365 email system to all centres, but they are free to use another system
- Regardless of their email system, centres can keep their dhamma.org website and course schedule
- IVTA has recently found a way to keep forwarding to existing insecure personal email addresses, but we suggest that your centre uses a secure mailing system to protect both the centre and IVTA in case of a data breach or misuse of student data.
- Whatever email system a centre uses, we ask centres to sign an Agreement that clarifies the joint responsibility of the centre and IVTA
- Such Agreement is meant to protect the centres and IVTA from possible data breach and misuse of confidential e-mails; see here.
- More information can be found here.
