Mailing lists
Local mailing lists
Each centre/trust handles their mailing lists (i.e. [email protected]) and mailboxes (i.e. [email protected]).
It is advisable that centres have their own local admin team (one or more local Dhamma servers with some IT experience). They will take care of setting up mailing lists, adding/removing people to or from the lists and instructing local trustees and ATs about their use.
IVTA’s admin team is fully available to offer support and training to local admin teams.
International mailing lists
Several mailing lists are operating to facilitate communication among ATs, Ts, CATs.
For instance, there are Teacher lists as well as AT lists for different parts of the world.
There are also worldwide lists for CATs, for Ts and for ATs.
Some of them are ‘announce only’. Some examples are:
Some lists are meant for open discussion. For example:
Notes
- You cannot send/receive communication to a list if you are not subscribed to the list.
- Some of the lists are moderated; moderators can filter messages if they find they are inappropriate or sent by mistake. The role of the administrators is certainly delicate and should be agreed to by the responsible Ts for those lists.
- All the lists have one or more owner/administrators who can add/remove people to the list.
- You can ask to be removed from a list at any time or to modify the address you are subscribed with.
- If you do not receive emails from a mailing list that you should be subscribed to, please write to [email protected].
- If the local admin requests, the subscriptions can be generated automatically from the online AT Book details.
- For information about how to unsubscribe from a list, please check here.
