Self-courses
The Self-courses feature on the Dhamma.org mobile app provides Old Students the ability to sit a standard or customized 3-Hour, ½-Day, 1-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day, or a 10-Day self-course.
Students can select to “auto-play” the course, which requires minimal interaction with the app during the course, i.e., the course will play automatically following the template daily schedule using the relevant daily chantings, group sittings and discourse recordings. If “auto-play” is not selected then the student will need to manually play each recording at the appropriate time.
Before the course, the student can select group sitting and discourse recordings in a language of their choice, and also customize a few other settings relevant for the course. Self-course FAQ, course opening and Vipassana Day formalities and daily timetables are included the standard templates. Students are advised to switch their devices to airplane mode, to keep their devices charged, and to not turn off their device or app for the duration of the course to avoid distraction.
Note: Only courses conducted by assistant teachers are counted as a course required to qualify for a Satipaṭṭhāna course or a long course.
